No friends.

Coming into the weekend the Oklahoma State Cowboy baaseball team was a meager 1-2 and had the tall task of playing four Pac-12 teams away from home in Arizona. Coach Holliday's team was definitely up to the task, winning three of four games this weekend to push their record to 4-3 on the season.Thursday: Oregon State 5, Oklahoma State 3WP: Moore LP: Nurdin S: HickeyThursday night's contest looked similar to the previous weekend's losses to Arizona State. The Pokes got a mediocre pitching performance from Tyler Nurdin and had nine hits, but they could scratch across three runs https://www.uhoutletstore.com/Marques_Alexander_Jersey-83. Nurdin's line: 4 13 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 1 K, 1 BB on 81 pitchesNurdin pushed his ERA to 5.27 after struggling in his first two starts of the 2015 season. Control was his issue last season, walking 39 batters in 52 innings https://www.uhoutletstore.com/Russell_Dixon_Jersey-56, but it hasn't been a huge concern this year for Nurdin. The bigger issue has been allowing hits, 15 so far, which is about 2 per inning.Gage Green, Tim Arakawa and Jon Littell each had RBI's in the game and Corey Hassel had two hits, but the Cowboys offense was not particularly hot on Thursday.Oregon State starter Andrew Moore worked into the 7th allowing only three runs and the Beavers bullpen shut it down after that to clinch the victory.OSU MVP: The bullpen trio of Tyler Buffett, Alex Hackerott and Trey Cobb went 4 23 shutout innings in relief of Nurdin.Friday: Oklahoma State 11, Washington State 1WP: Perrin LP: McDowell S: CostelloJon Perrin took it upon himself to change the Cowboys fortunes on Friday, throwing 6 no-hit innings before being lifted in favor of Conor Costello. I have no issue with Holliday taking Perrin out of the game after 84 pitches. Not only is it too early to be stretching out starting pitchers, but also Perrin was on a pitch count in his previous start as a precaution after having surgery in the offseason.Perrin's line: 6 IP, 0 H, 6 K, 2 BB on 84 pitches. The offense was just as good as good as Perrin was on Friday. Gage Green scored after walking in the 1st inning to start things off, followed by RBI singles from Arakawa and Littell to give the Cowboys a 3-0 lead and chasing the WSU starter before he could finish the opening frame.Littell scored on a passed ball and Costello added an RBI double pushing the lead to 5-0 through four innings. The Cowboys notched five insurance runs in the 8th inning, Littell drove in two runs on a single and then Bryan Case hit a two-run home run, his first of the season.Costello allowed one run in relief, earning a rare three-inning save.OSU MVP: Split-decision here, Perrin's six no-hit innings and Littell's three hits and three RBI's.Saturday: Oklahoma State 10, Utah 2WP: Freeman LP: RoseThe Cowboys kept their offensive going in Saturday's game, scoring 10 runs on 13 hits. Michael Freeman allowed one run to the Utes in the 2nd inning and that was all they would get off the Cowboys starter. I was very impressed with how Freeman bounced back after a sub-par start against ASU last weekend.Freeman's line: 5 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 4 K, 2 BB on 76 pitches.Dustin Williams started the scoring for OSU with a solo home run in the 3rd inning, followed by a Garrett McCain RBI that gave the Cowboys a lead that they would not surrender. Jacob Chappell drove in two runs with a single to center field, stretching the lead to 4-1.The Cowboys added six more runs in the 6th and 7th innings; highlights include RBI singles from Ryan Sluder, Gage Green and Tim Arakawa. The Cowboys had a very balanced offensive attack in this game, with every starter except for McCain recording a hit.Blake Battenfield threw three scoreless innings in relief of Freeman and Garrett Williams allowed one run in the 9th before shutting down the OSU win.OSU MVP: Dustin Williams went 3-5 with a solo HRSunday: OSU 12, Washington 2WP: Cobb LP: BremerSunday's win over the Huskies not only marked the Cowboys third straight win, but it also marked the third straight 10+ run performance from the offense.  This time it was 12 runs on 13 hits, proof that this offensive potency may not be a fluke.Gage Green started off his incredible day with a leadoff home run off of UW starter Noah Bremer. The Huskies scored in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 1, before Garrett McCain drove in two runs after a pair of UW errors in the 2nd making it 3-1.Dustin Williams had an RBI single, followed by Jon Littell scoring on a wild pitch that stretched the lead to 5-1 in the 3rd inning. The 4th inning started just like the 1st, with a solo home run from Green, who went 3-5 with 2 RBI's on the day.Freshman RHP Carson LaRue made his first start for the Cowboys on Sunday, logging three innings of one-run before handing it over to Trey Cobb who also logged three innings of one-run ball.Remey Reed went two scoreless innings before Koda Glover shut it down in the 9th with two strikeouts. The Cowboys offense managed to plate a run in each of the first six innings before being held to nothing in 7th. McCain, Green, Arakawa and Williams all had multiple hits in another OSU offensive explosion.OSU MVP: How can I not give it to Gage Green? Two home runs in one game, when he had only three all of last season. It's hard to find anything to complain about when the team finishes with a +26 run differential over a four-game series. The offense was absolutely incredible; scoring 38 runs against four capable Pac-12 opponents is something that gets me really excited about the potential of this team.Perrin showed me there is nothing to worry about when it comes to his surgically-repaired arm, nothing at all. OSU has not had a no-hitter thrown since 1985 when Joe Giordanella threw one against Oklahoma Christopher Johnson Jersey, but Perrin has potential to end that draught. If it does happen, I pray that it's at Allie P and not on the road.In four games, OSU relievers logged 17 23 innings and only allowed a measly three runs, that's a 1.53 ERA for the weekend. This bullpen could be just as good as last season's, if not better. Remey Reed has been the best so far, throwing six scoreless frames in his first three appearances on the season.Picking out individual contributors is difficult to do on this balanced Cowboys offense, but it's hard to not notice Tim Arakawa and Kevin Bradley's batting averages that are north of .390. I know it's too early to get excited on numbers like that, but these two are off to unbelievable starts.Basically everything I wanted this team do this weekend they did. The offense was top-notch, the starting pitching was much-improved and the bullpen remained solid.OSU SERIES MVP: The whole offense, 38 runs totalThe Cowboys host Missouri State in the home-opener at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium on Wednesday at 4 PM.

Two weeks of the 2021 college football season are in the books and week three has arrived. There is a full slate of Big 12 games to preview, and we will also run through some of the top games from around the country. Let's get to it! Oklahoma State Boise StateWe have a whole preview post for this game, so I won't spend too much time on it. However, both teams have been committed to running the ball through two games this season and neither team has had much success doing so. This game, from Oklahoma State's perspective, comes down to how much the team has adjusted and improved over the last week. That includes the play-calling. I picked this game operating off the assumption that OSU hasn't improved much from last week. I could be proved wrong big time on Saturday and I hope it happens. Coach Mike Gundy acknowledged the play-calling had to get better. The offensive line needs to have a much better game. If those two things happen OSU could win this game by two scores. I am taking an "I will believe it when I see it" approach with the Cowboys this week. I have Boise State over OSU 24-20 and most of the staff has the Broncos defending the Blue Turf with a win. Here are our staff predictions for Oklahoma State's first road trip to Boise State: Nebraska No. 3 OklahomaNebraska and Oklahoma will wear helmet decals honoring the 50th anniversary of the "Game of the Century" between the two schools. Saturday's showdown in Norman will be the exact opposite of the "Game of the Century." It won't even be the game of the 11 a.m. slate on Saturday, September 18th. Nebraska suffered an embarrasing loss to Illinois to open the season before beating Fordham 52-7 and Buffalo 28-3. Oklahoma should have no problem putting Nebraska away. This game will likely be over by the 5:00 minute mark in the first quarter https://www.whoutletstore.com/Peyton_Henry_Jersey-21. Spencer Rattler will have 250+ passing yards and four touchdowns by halftime. Caleb Williams will get to captain the ship in the second half. It will be a long afternoon in Norman for the Cornhuskers. It's been all downhill for Nebraska since it left the Big 12. Meanwhile, Oklahoma has turned itself into one of the best five programs in all of college football since Nebraska left for the Big Ten. I have Oklahoma over Nebraska 56-14 and the entire staff, except for Phillip Slavin, has OU to cover a 22.5 point spread. No. 15 Virginia Tech West VirginiaSpeaking of another old rivalry, Virginia Tech will travel to West Virginia to take on the Mountaineers in what will be a much closer game than Nebraska- Oklahoma will be. Virginia Tech got an impressive 17-10 win over North Carolina to open the season. Defense has been a calling card in Blacksburg for decades now and it appears to be the strength for the Hokies once again. Virginia Tech beat Middle Tennessee State 35-14 last week.VT quarterback Braxton Burmeister has completed 26 of 43 passes for 311 yards and two touchdowns with an interception. He also leads the Hokies in rushing yards with 94 and a touchdown. West Virginia beat Long Island 66-0 after losing to Maryland on the road 30-24 to open the season. Jarret Doege passed for 277 yards and a score but two interceptions in the loss to Maryland, and Leddie Brown rushed for 73 yards and two scores on 17 carries. I have Virginia Tech winning this one 27-17. Here's who our staff thinks will go home with the Black Diamond Trophy: Nevada Kansas StateKansas State will be without starting quarterback Skylar Thompson this week. The Wildcats will turn to backup Will Howard against Nevada. Howard struggled last week, completing just eight of his 17 passes for 76 yards and an interception against Southern Illinois. It will likely be a heavy dose of Deuce Vaughn again this week. Nevada is 2-0 and has a win over California, a team that nearly beat TCU in Fort Worth last week. The Wolfpack beat Cal 22-17 behind 312 yards and two touchdown passes from quarterback Carson Strong. Nevada will have the edge at quarterback against Kansas State. Receiver Tory Horton is another player to watch for the Wolfpack on offense as a big play threat. Horton has 149 yards on six receptions so far this season. Howard will have to play much better against Nevada than he did against Southern Illinois if Kansas State is going to win this game. The Kansas State offense will need to keep up with Nevada. I am not sure Howard is up to the task and I have Nevada winning 28-20 in Manhattan Brendan Radley-Hiles Jersey. Baylor KansasBaylor and Kansas square off in the first Big 12 conference game of the year. Baylor beat Texas State 29-20 in the opening week of the season while Kansas edged South Dakota 17-14. Baylor rebounded for a big win over Texas Southern 66-7 last week while Kansas lost to No. 17 Coastal Carolina 49-22. If Kansas can score 22 on Coastal Carolina and Texas State can score 20 on the Baylor defense, I think Kansas can manage to score 20 points against Baylor at home. Jason Bean passed for 189 yards and rushed for 102 yards and two scores against Coastal Carolina. I think he will give the Baylor defense enough trouble to hang 20 points on the board. Baylor's rushing attack with Trestan Ebner and Abram Smith should power the Bears past Kansas by a few scores. Quarterback Gerry Bohanon is good enough to steer Baylor clear of a potential loss to the worst team in the Big 12 https://www.whoutletstore.com/Sam_Adams_Ii_Jersey-82. I have Baylor over Kansas 38-20 and the entire staff has Baylor covering the 17.5 point spread. Florida International Texas TechTexas Tech should win this game easily, but I also wouldn't put it past the Red Raiders to lose. The Matt Wells era has seen Texas Tech almost lose a game to Houston Baptist and Stephen F. Austin. The 2021 season is off to an interesting start for Texas Tech with an impressive 38-21 win over Houston and an embarrassing 28-22 win over SFA. Florida International is 1-1 and lost to Texas State 23-17 in overtime last week. That's the same Texas State team that lost to Baylor by nine. Tyler Shough passed for 174 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions. Most of Texas Tech's yards came on a 75 yard Erik Ezukanma reception, a 67 yard Tahj Brooks run, and a 52 yard Xavier White run. Texas Tech was out-gained by SFA 375-364. Wells and the Red Raiders need a good performance this weekend before conference play begins to rebuild some of the momentum the program had after the Houston win. I have Texas Tech winning this one, but I will keep a close eye on how the Red Raiders perform. Rice TexasTexas is looking to rebound from a stunning loss at Arkansas last week. The game might have had a different outcome had Hudson Card not overthrown multiple receivers. He won't get that chance this weekend as coach Steve Sarkisian promoted Casey Thompson to QB1. This game probably won't be close, and Card will get some playing time at some point in the game. His chance likely won't come until the game is well in hand in the second half, unless Thompson plays terrible to start the game. Bijan Robinson figures to have a big night along with receivers Xavier Worthy and Jordan Whittington. This game probably won't tell us much about Texas and if the Longhorn have taken a step forward after the loss to Arkansas. I have Texas 50-7 over Rice in Austin. No. 14 Iowa State UNLVIowa State is another Big 12 team looking to rebound from a tough loss last week. Veteran quarterback Brock Purdy was actually benched against Iowa after a rough performance. Purdy completed 13 of his 27 passes for 138 yards and three interceptions. The Cyclones lost to Iowa 27-17. Breece Hall still hasn't had a great performance this season, rushing for 69 yards in each game. UNLV hasn't had an ideal to start to its season either. The Rebels dropped their season opener to Eastern Washington 35-33 in overtime and followed that with a 37-10 loss to No. 23 Arizona State last week. This weekend's game will likely play out closer to the Arizona State score from last week. I have Iowa State getting a bounce back 45-10 over UNLV with a big performance for Hall. Top GamesNo. 1 Alabama takes on No. 9 Florida in Gainesville for the SEC on CBS afternoon game. College Gameday will be live from No. 10 Penn State vs No. 22 Auburn. Penn State's White Out game is always loud and always a fun time. The best late game will be No. 19 Arizona State at No. 23 BYU with kickoff set for 9:15 CST on ESPN Matteo Mele Jersey. Future Big 12 member No. 8 Cincinnati hosts Indiana at 11 a.m. on ESPN.

Recruiting never stops for college athletics, especially in the off-season. Oklahoma State coaches are hard at work right now trying to bring in the next class of players to don the orange and black. The recruiting roundup is our way of tallying up all the latest offers and visits by potential Cowboys Joe Milton III Jersey. I have a Top 2. Me and my brother will play together!!!!! Tayland Humphrey. Before I decided to make my commitment I made a pros and cons list of my top four, and after looking at it, making everything, Oklahoma State had no cons.... the facilities are all brand new, everything is beautiful over there. The thing that sold me, the thing I liked the most was that the coaches care more about the person than they care about the player."Check out the full interview below. BASKETBALLVISIT4-Star Center David McCormackDavid McCormack is on a unofficial visit to Oklahoma State with !!! Mike Boynton and co https://www.tvfanprostore.com/Sully_Mcdermott_Jersey-147. played host to 4-star big man David McCormack this weekend. The 6-foot-10, 290 lb. center from Mouth of Wilson, Virginia is ranked as the 60th best player in his class by Rivals, and the 50th best player by 247 Sports Kwauze Garland Jersey. The point is, he's good, and be a huge get for Oklahoma State. At the moment, McCormack has offers from 24 schools including OSU, Duke, Kansas, Georgetown, Maryland, Florida State, Louisville, and Baylor among others. The good news is the "experts" are starting to lean toward OSU landing McCormack. According to 247Sports, the six latest predictions are all Oklahoma State, putting them ahead of Georgetown and right behind Duke.Based on the photo in the tweet above, McCormack would look very good in orange and black for the next year of two. Here's hoping it happens.

The Texas offense seemed two-faced as it took on its hated rival When Texas scores, it usually scores pretty quickly. The same is true for the unsuccessful offensive drives. The Longhorns had seven offensive drives that didn't end in points on Saturday Blaine Green Jersey, not counting a fumbled kickoff return and the kickoff return that ended the game, given that those are special teams and not offense. Of those seven drives, six lasted four plays or less and one was a six-play drive that resulted in a turnover-on-downs. Whether it was scoring or punting, Texas didn't burn much clock. The Longhorns held the ball for 24:26 as opposed to 35:34 for Oklahoma. The passing game was solid, accounting for 388 yards, which equals 11.4 yards-per-completion. The run game was alright, with 128 yards on 27 attempts for an average of 4.6 yards per carry. The BlueprintThose are the particulars of Texas' track meet showdown with Oklahoma, but what does it all mean? Texas scores fast and it gives up the ball fast. The Horns likely aren't going to take an early lead and start draining the clock, truly the embodiment of coach Steve Sarkisian's "all gas, no brakes" slogan. See, look:Even our brakes are made of gasUnfortunately for "Sharkisian," Texas couldn't hold its 28-7 first-quarter lead because the brakes ran out of gas; in fact, the brakes failed altogether and the Horns went careening off a cliff.Perhaps the best news for OSU is how a struggling Oklahoma run game gashed the Texas defense. The Sooners ran for 339 yards on 41 carries, good for 8.3 yards-per-carry. Considering the run game has been by far the best facet of Oklahoma State's offense this season Rody Schneider Jersey, this is good news. Throw in a poor performance for the Texas front seven against Arkansas' rushing attack and a pattern reveals itself. Texas struggles to defend the run against competent "Power 5" competition.Using a High School Example...The way this Texas team operates Meanwhile, people around the program at UT raved about true freshman receiver Xavier Worthy all summer and he hasn't disappointed so far. Worthy had his best game against OU last week, going for 261 yards and two scores, including a 75-yard touchdown screen pass on the first play of the game.to the house class="p-entry-hr" The emotional aspect of this game is going to be hard to measure. Teams coming off a bye week typically have a perceived advantage because they are more rested. However, Texas is likely, uh... for lack of a better term, pissed off following its loss to OU Cade Cavender Jersey, and knows it can have a shot at revenge in the Big 12 title game if it runs the table in Big 12 play. A loss to Oklahoma State would likely eliminate that chance, so the Horns should be fired up to play at home against its biggest threat to reaching a Big 12 title game.Oklahoma State has a better-than-good chance to win this game if it does everything right pertaining to what I outlined above. But those things aren't just easy to do and Texas is favored for good reason. The Horns offense has looked outstanding this year while the defense has struggled at times. Its been the exact opposite for the Pokes. In today's game, the team with the better offense typically wins those games where the opponents have opposite strengths pertaining to offense and defense.

The Spring Game is always a big recruiting weekend for Oklahoma State, especially for football. This year was no different with the Cowboys handing out multiple offers as well as picking up a two BIG commitments, both in football and basketball. FOOTBALLCommitsThe big news of the day was the commitment of the top offensive guard in Oklahoma for 2018, Bryce Bray. He chose OSU over offers from OU, Iowa State, and Tulsa. CutsThe Cowboys made the final Final-8 for 4-star offensive tackle Darrell Simpson.interviews rivals.comOSU made the cut along with Arkansas, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, LSU, and Texas AM. Simpson is a 6-foot-7, 336-lb. tackle from Justin, TX who had offers from more than 20 schools. OffersAmong the defensive players Mike Gundy and Co. made offers to this weekend was 3-star defensive end Tyler Lacy rivals.comThe 6-foot-4, 241-lb. DE has offers from a dozen schools, including Texas Tech, Houston, and SMU. The Cowboys also offered 2018, 3-star cornerback Tanner McCalister out of Rockwall, TX. rivals.comThe 6-foot-0, 185-lb CB has offers from 11 schools including OSU, Kansas, TCU, Mississippi State, and Washington State, among others. Right now, 247sports has Oklahoma State as the favorite to land McCalister, making his recruitment one to watch moving forward. 2018 3-star athlete Sean Michael Flanagan picked up an offer from OSU https://www.ukfootballprostore.com/Josh_Cox_Jersey-54.Out of Charleston, Arkansas, the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder plays wide receiver and safety in high school. As of now, his only other offers are from Central Arkansas, Arkansas State, and UMass.Since he is likely being recruited to play safety at OSU, here are his defensive HUDL highlights. The commitment from Bray wasn't enough for the Cowboys this weekend, as they also offered 2018 3-star offensive guard Tyrese Williams. rivals.comThe 6-foot-3, 280-lb guard plays out of Houston, TX currently has offers from 11 schools including OSU, Utah, Cal, Tulsa, and UCF, among others. Williams is listed as a Center on 247 sports, so it will be interesting to see which position on the line OSU is recruiting him for. Sticking with the line, OSU also offered 2019 center Branson Bragg last Thursday. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound lineman also plays defensive end on the other side of the ball. You can check out his HUDL higlights below. Oklahoma State is working to keep the receiving corp stacked with talent well into the future by offering 2019 4-star wide receiver Demariyon Houston Cole Schneider Jersey. rivals.comThe 6-foot-0, 165-lb. receiver from Oklahoma City is part of the class of 2019, but already offers from Ole Miss and Texas Tech to go along with OSU.I'm sure his list will continue to grow over the next few months.Check out his HUDL highlight reel. BASKETBALLOn the other side of the ball, Mike Boynton got a huge commitment from Miami of Ohio transfer Michael Weathers. While he will have to sit out a year, Weathers will provide some real talent to the point guard position.Speaking of 2019 eligiblity, Boynton also reportedly offered 2019 Forward DJ BurnsClass of 2019 F DJ Burns just received an offer from Oklahoma State Julius Kim (April 15 https://www.ukfootballprostore.com/Nate_Craig_myers_Jersey-146, 2017Burns, a 6-foot-8, 190-lb. power forward, is out of Rock Hill, South Carolina with reportedly 15 offers. He's said to be leaning toward North Carolina. Burns averaged a double-double as a freshman.Obviously Boynton and Lamont Evans are familiar with the area, so they are targeting talent. Rock Hill is also where Mason Rudolph played High School ball, so maybe he can lend a hand in recruiting the kid.
